Virtual Meetup – Niko Stotz

Abstract

Niko will lead the discussion with a presentation comparing Xtext and MPS, based on his extensive experience using both in industrial projects. We hope in the participation of other practitioners with experience using other language workbenches such as Spoofax or Rascal. The goal we have for this discussion is to reach a consensus around some guidelines to support practitioners in choosing when to use textual editors and when to use projectional ones.

Biography

Niko is a long-time expert in Language Engineering. He has worked on designing and implementing DSLs, first based on the EMF technologies and now mostly based on MPS. He is currently continuing his work on Language Engineering at Canon in the Netherlands.
